At Laser Spine Institute, our goal is to provide patient-centered care in an atmosphere of comfort and compassion. We understand that undergoing spine surgery can be scary for you and for your family. We want to help comfort you and guide you through your treatment and recovery process so you feel relaxed and secure throughout your time at Laser Spine Institute.
In order to provide this level of care to patients, we have developed our streamlined patient experience. Approximately 60 percent of our patients travel from out of state to one of our world-class surgery centers to receive the highest level of spine care available. We value the commitment that this travel takes, which is why we are dedicated to making each step in your patient experience comfortable and efficient. The streamlined Laser Spine Institute patient experience generally follows the order below:
Potential patients who contact us by phone or online chat are first partnered with one of our Patient Empowerment Consultants. This person’s primary purpose is to help you understand our processes and procedures while helping you find out if you may be a candidate, all before you travel to one of our surgery centers.
Patients who live within a drivable distance to one of our facilities are recommended to schedule a consultation with one of our doctors. This face-to-face consultation allows for our patients to sit and review their MRI with one of our physicians, while seeing our facility firsthand and learning about the Laser Spine Institute experience. Our Patient Empowerment Consultants are also happy to provide this review over the phone for patients who live farther away.
Care Management Team
If you are a potential candidate for one of our minimally invasive procedures, you will then work with our Care Management Team. This team includes a Registered Nurse who will personally help you complete any needed assessments and a Patient Concierge to schedule your visit and assist with travel arrangements.
Streamlined experience at our outpatient center in Tampa
Because we are devoted to making each experience comfortable and relaxed, our procedures are performed in an outpatient ambulatory surgery center and require no hospital stay.^ Laser Spine Institute works with a number of hotels near our centers in order to offer our patients preferred accommodations and a discounted rate. Each patient’s experience depends on the type of surgery being performed but the average experience is around five days, including pre- and postoperative evaluations.
